Patient history

I am Emilia from Tauragė. From my childhood until now, at the age of 16, I still have major problems with my teeth, jaws, and breathing. From my childhood, I have lingering memories of difficulty breathing through my nose, which often caused me to gape, crooked teeth, sleepless nights... When I was only two years old, I already had my first operation, removal of adenoids, which, unfortunately, did not give positive results. After a year, this procedure had to be repeated again. In addition, the permanent teeth began to erupt crookedly. Since there was no specialist in Taurage at that time, we turned to an orthodontist working in Jurbarka, coming from Vilnius. Long orthodontic treatment began. So, since I was 7 years old, I started wearing plates because of crooked teeth.

The treatment continued until I was 15 years old. Throughout this period, I wore several plates, a palatal arch, a mask that pushed the dental arch forward. Unfortunately, the desired result could not be achieved. There was everything: sleepless nights, when it was necessary to be with the devices even at night, tears, disappointments and unanswered questions about why this happened to me. I wanted it to end sooner, but... As I grew, my jaws became more and more crooked, the asymmetry of my face became more prominent, my canine teeth remained unerupted, it became more and more difficult to eat, and the worst thing was that my self-confidence was fading every day. But there was a glimmer of hope that my life could change when we learned about the possibility of orthognathic surgery. From now on, I look forward to every minute when I can trust myself and finally smile without shame.

The only obstacle to go towards my dream is finances. Although the parents are working, the wages are small, just enough to live on. In addition to orthognathic treatment costs, I still have studies ahead of me. Encouraged by the doctors who care for me, I would like to study medicine and also help others. The amount for orthognathic treatment and surgery is a big challenge for us, so we are appealing to all of you for financial help. We would be very grateful if you could help us. Thanks in advance!
