Hello, I'm Aurimas, I'm 22 years old, I'm currently a student trying to combine studies with work, living in Vilnius, but originally from Alytus. Ever since I was a child, I never had to visit dentists because of constantly decaying, unhealthy teeth, because, quite simply, I never had such problems. However, from the age of 14, I had to visit dentists' offices more and more often because of crooked, misaligned and protruding front teeth. At that time, no one would have even suspected or thought about jaw problems.

Speaking further, the dentists of Alytus said that the entire straightening of the teeth can be done perfectly with the help of a plate, but as is typical for orthodontic treatment, it is not possible to remove the teeth, because the teeth were too crowded and there was no room for them to return to their proper place. I think most people firmly trust doctors and easily surrender to them, this was also the case with me, during the entire treatment they removed only one upper tooth, arguing that it would be enough in fullness and there is no purpose to pull more healthy teeth. For three years I tried to "make friends" with the plate, wear it not only at night, but also during the day to stay as long as possible, it's a pity, but all that time was wasted. Of course, the gap that appeared in the place of the empty tooth almost disappeared, the front teeth also straightened minimally, but it was not for long. After many attempts and relying on dentists, we were very disappointed. Thus, for several years, teeth straightening was a closed and untouchable topic.

As I grew up and matured, I realized that my facial profile was not like most people's, the difference between the lower and upper jaw was too big, which is especially obvious when you see a person from the side. At that time, I had not even heard of such a thing as orthognathic surgery, but I understood only one thing, that I could no longer delay my dream of having straight, beautiful teeth and a bold smile. Of course, since childhood I was a cheerful, strong and smiling person, I think, like many people who have problems with smiling, I experienced all kinds of and the most painful bullying. However, the bullying did not make me stop smiling, but it was they that stopped my basketball career, cruel teenage bullying and all kinds of retorts had no end to it.

As time passed, the situation worsened. Due to an irregular bite and asymmetry of the jaws, a constant load appeared, which developed into pain and swelling of the temporomandibular joint. This is what made me seek immediate help. After visiting and listening to the opinion of several dentists, it became clear that the problem will not be solved without orthognathic surgery. During the visit to Simonas Grybauskas, he only confirmed that orthognathic surgery is the only way to solve all problems - to forget all the pain and have a beautiful smile.
